I have great joy and passion for the German language. It would be a pleasure for me to pass on my native language to others. I could help proofread texts, but my main focus would be practicing pronunciation, so I would prefer VoiceChat.
I’d love to learn a few basic words in Chinese. Also I would like to learn more about the daily life in countries on the continents of Asia or Australia. And since I’m a very outgoing person, I really enjoy meeting new people, in general. :-)
In my free time, I like going out with friends: grabbing drinks, hiking, going out to eat, and attending events, concerts etc.
I really enjoy playing computer games. I like reading, watching movies, music and cooking (I often try out new recipes from all over the world, which, I must admit, often ends in culinary disasters) :-)

Hi! My name is Maurice. I am 29 and I live in Germany. In my free time, I love to read books, study, cook, spend time in nature picking mushrooms or simply walking my dog but on the other hand I also enjoy watching movies, anime and playing video games.
When I was 20 years old I lived in Australia for a year and I have been actively using the English language ever since, so although I am not a native speaker I would consider myself quite capable of teaching the basics to anyone who is just starting out. That being said, my forte is definitely German.
Ever since I was a little kid, I have always had an affinity for anime and later on in life I became intrigued with Japanese culture as a whole. Not to mention the excellent cuisine. So about a year ago (according to Duolingo, today it has been 304 days) I began studying Japanese through the aforementioned app. A little after that I came across an app called anki, which ever since then has become part of my daily studying routine. I also own he first part of the Genki course, although I haven't found the time to really dig into that. I am pretty comfortable reading and writing Hiragana and I feel like I have memorized quite a few words, but when it comes to using them in any meaningful sentence I am lost.
In short, I am really looking forward to meeting a language partner with whom I can share this learning journey. がんばれ！Lass uns unser Bestes geben!

Ich heiße Seth, und ich möchte mehr Deutsch sprechen. Es ist ganz wichtig für mich, die Sprache schnell zu lernen. Wenn ich mehr lerne, wird mein Leben in Deutschland einfacher. Ich höre viel, aber ich sorge zu viel über Höflichkeit, und ich will nicht zu viel sprechen, wenn ich bei ein Party oder in der Uni bin. Deshalb will ich hier sprechen, natüralischer zu reden.
Deutsch ist meine dritte Sprache. Ich spreche seit 10 Jahren Spanisch, und ich reise gerne um Spanien oder andere Länder. Ich bin sportlich, und oft bouldere/klettere ich in der Halle. Ich mag auch Kickboxen und Yoga. Ich studiere Chemie und ich kam für ein Masters nach Deutschland. Ich koche gerne und ich bin seit 4 Jahren (meistens) Vegetarier. Ich interessiere mich philosophische Thema und ich lese darüber auf Deutsch. Ich bin mit der Bibel aufgewachsen, aber jetzt lese ich spirituelle Bücher.

Things I really enjoy include reading all kinds of books, writing, puzzling over life´s riddles and absurdities, going for walks or hikes, watching the leaves fall or the flowers blossom, listening to music (mostly various subgenres of Metal as well as Ambient, Nordic Folk and Stoner Rock, but I´m absolutely open to other genres), watching films /TV shows as well as getting to know interesting people and their stories. And of course, I have always loved learning languages.
However, as a rather introverted guy, I tend to be shy at first and can feel quite awkward, even anxious about making mistakes or generally making a fool of myself when talking in a foreign language. (Do any of you experience this contradiction, too – genuinely wanting to connect with people from all places and walks of life while having a hard time coming out of your shell?) This has kept me from practicing and learning for far too long. But now, I´ve decided to make a change and overcome my fear of writing in and speaking foreign languages. So, if you´re up for a chat about any topic you like, do leave me a message – I look forward to being penpals with or e-meeting you soon. 😊
PS: I would greatly appreciate it if you don´t hate the LGBTIQ+ community (or any other specific group, for that matter).
