In the past, when I talked with people who spoke very good Japanese, we often ended up communicating only in Japanese, and I didn’t get to practice English much.
So this time, I’m hoping to find someone who can respect each other’s languages and cultures, and study together — both English and Japanese — at set times! 😊

I live in Auckland and love to travel every couple of years. I believe you have a better experience when you speak the language of the country you travel to. I speak Italian fairly well and Spanish quite well and am part of a Spanish meetup group so can practice. However I have started Portuguese a year ago and there are no Portuguese groups here. I'd like to practise European Portuguese in the evening or weekends and would love to chat with someone from Portugal! I'm in my sixties but happy to talk to people of any age.

My name is William, I am 23 years old. I grew up in Queensland, Australia, and now I am studying Earth Sciences in New Zealand. My favourite topics are Antarctica, glacial mountains and ice. I love listening to music! I listen to a lot of it and I love sharing it. I enjoy being with my friends, reading, running and being outdoors. I hope to one day be a university lecturer, teach geology, or work as a scientist in Antarctica. (Ideally, both.)
I am a beginner, but I will soon start an A1-A2 course. I am determined to learn this language, so I am really looking forward to getting started. Hey, I’m originally from England but I’ve lived in New Zealand for almost 10 years now. I’ve recently started learning Japanese, but I’d really like to be able to practise with someone to help build my confidence and improve my understanding of the spoken language (that’s the part I’m finding hardest).
I’m still a near-beginner, learning hiragana at the moment along with some words, phrases, and short sentences. I’d also love to share my language and help others learn English.
I like to keep fit, run a little, play golf, and I love movies, coffee, and food.

I am a New Zealander who loves visiting Japan, but funding as I get further away from the main tourist areas I'm struggling with the language barriers. As I want to improve my Japanese, I would love to have an exchange with a Japanese speaker.
I have three teenage children and they take up a large part of my spare time. I like cooking, listening to podcasts and taking walks in the local forests. Most of all, I enjoy travelling.
