My name is Ruby. I live with my husband and dog in a lovely place in the mountains near Sydney. I work full time as an analyst, love ballroom dance, literature, mysteries and puzzles and French. My father went to school in France and was a native speaker but didn’t pass anything on when I was little as he wanted to improve his English. I have a degree in literature and politics and have taught English as a second language overseas to regular students and executives. I am hoping to chat in French and improve.. A Bientot.

Hi, I live in Perth and am enjoy learning Spanish but I feel like I struggle with the speaking/listening aspects as I never chat to anyone. Would love to find a native Spanish speaker to practise conversations with to improve my understanding and vocabulary. In my spare time I like to go to the beach and gym and anything outside really. I also like to paint when I get the motivation!

Hi! My name is Sicheng, and I’m from China. I’m currently living in Melbourne as an international student. My English is not very fluent yet, but I can speak a bit, and I’m trying to improve it day by day. I’m looking for a native English speaker who is interested in learning Chinese so we can help each other. I think English and Chinese are both really beautiful languages. I love English songs, and I also enjoy the way both languages look in writing—I think the calligraphy of Chinese and English is really cool. I like jogging, and sometimes I go to the gym. I also love cooking Chinese food! I can make some really tasty dishes, and if we become friends, maybe you can try them someday, haha. I’m a big foodie too—I enjoy trying delicious food from all over the world. Both of my parents are chefs back in China, so I’ve grown up around cooking, and it’s something I’m really interested in. Besides that, I sometimes watch shows on Netflix, and I play video games as well. I also enjoy road trips. I have a car here, and sometimes I just drive around the city when I have nothing else to do. If we have some similar interests, feel free to message me. Even if we don’t, you’re still welcome to talk to me—as long as you’re kind and sincere. I really want to make some local friends, and I hope we can have a good time together!

Hello, My name is Darryl and I live in Sydney Australia. I am a retired High School Science Teacher. I am looking for a language exchange partner to help improve my spoken Japanese. I am not a beginner in Japanese, I have taken some classes and I did have a tutor some years ago. I have some speaking skills, but my English accent affects my Japanese pronunciation. I would like to improve my pronunciation by speaking with a native Japanese speaker. I would also like to improve my listening skills and increase my conversational ability. I realise I will never speak Japanese like a native speaker and will always have an accent. I am looking for an exchange partner who speaks good English who would like to practise their skills in speaking and listening – and increase and improve their vocabulary. As a native English speaker and former teacher, I can help you to reach a higher, more fluent level of English. Also, I play guitar. I like 60’s and 70’s music both acoustic and electric, and American blues music. I am happy to exchange via Skype or WhatsApp.

Completed the Korean Language Instructor Course at Yonsei University (2021) Podiatrist | Diploma in Languages (Japanese major) Hi! I'm passionate about languages and cultures and have been doing language exchange for many years. I have plenty of teaching experience, including online language exchange and working as a Korean teacher at a language school for children. I’ve also helped university students by guiding and editing their assignments. Currently, I’m focused on learning Japanese and Chinese, while continuing to practice English. Having said that, I still love making friends from around the world and learning about their languages and cultures. I'm looking for language exchange partners for regular practice. In return, I can help you with Korean, and also English or Japanese if you're not a native speaker. Let’s study together! If you’re planning to travel to Korea or Australia, I’d be happy to guide you! I’ve done that a few times and really enjoy traveling with others. ________________________________________ (Extra note): I’m familiar with the common mistakes that Korean learners often make and can help answer your grammar questions and explain Korean culture. For example: #1: 잘 지냈어요?, 어떻게 지내세요? — These are NOT direct equivalents of “How are you?” in Korean. In fact, Korean people don’t typically say "how are you" the way it’s used in English. #2: In Korea, you can usually only be “friends” with people who are the same age as you. It’s a cultural thing! If you want to know more about the Korean language and culture, feel free to reach out 😊 ________________________________________ What I use: Kakaotalk (main), Line, WeChat, Discord, Skype, Instagram, WhatsApp What I don’t use: Hangouts, Snapchat, or any other messengers not listed above.
