I am an international student from China, and I came to Canada three years ago to study Computer Science. My native language is Mandarin Chinese, and I can also understand Cantonese and hold basic conversations in it. I am fluent in reading and writing both Simplified and Traditional Chinese, considering both as my first languages. Furthermore, English is my second language—or third, if you consider Cantonese as a separate language from Mandarin—and it is the primary language I use for studying and working currently. I have previously done a bit of self-study in Korean and Japanese online, and I have a strong interest in learning both of these languages. Hello, I am a German language teacher but I want to learn Mandarin for myself, I am very interested in China and the culture and language . I started a course at the college here and I enjoy it. I think it will help me to get ahead if I speak with a native speaker.
