越南语Hi, my name is Justin. I’m a native English speaker from Canada with a strong interest in Vietnamese, Chinese, and Southeast Asian culture. I’m currently working on a book series about a powerful female pirate crew, and I’m hoping to learn more about the cultures and coastal regions that inspire my writing while making new friends and pen pals along the way.
Some of my hobbies include Southeast Asian history, creative writing, music, animation, tea culture, and exploring Buddhism. I especially enjoy learning about Vietnam, Laos, Hong Kong, Macau, Hainan, Guangdong, and Guangxi. I’m very interested in coastal life, maritime history, local traditions, food, and everyday culture.
I’m friendly, curious, open-minded, and always happy to have thoughtful conversations and cultural exchange. I would also love to improve my understanding of Vietnamese and Lao culture over time.
I also know two local people who spend half the year in China and half here in Canada running a high-end pottery and tea shop, which has helped deepen my appreciation for tea culture and traditional arts.
