Hi All

I'm Hiro from Japan, a 5th-year medical male student studying in London as an elective medical student from the middle of January to the end of March 2022. I had experienced as a theoretical physics researcher and managerial consultant before I was accepted as a medical student. I'm currently interested in Primary Care and its research in the UK.

I sometimes meditate at a Zen temple, where zen master (Roshi) passed me the problem(Kouan), which typically takes many years until Roshi allows the apprentices to pass. I have a passion for seeing engaging Japanese animation or manga, as well :D
For almost a decade, I lived in Kyoto, the ancient city of Japan, enjoying visiting myriad temples and shrines and attending a versatile range of festivals, including the Gion festival. My sister is a tea master; therefore, I sometimes enjoy a tea ceremony with her.

During my stay in London, I would like to practise English.
I'm preparing for the IELTS, targeting RLSW=8777. My current score is RLSW=7,6,7.5,6.5.
When it comes to Speaking and Writing, I'm on track (I hope so); however, Reading and Listening are the weakest areas.

私は日本の大学の医学生のヒロです。2022年の1月から3月末まで選択実習でロンドンの大学、病院、プライマリケア研究拠点などを訪問しています。医学生になる前は、理論物理学（宇宙論）の研究をしたり、経営コンサルタントとして勤務していた経験があります。現在は、英国におけるプライマリケアの実践と研究に興味を持っています。

私は、日本の臨済宗の専門道場に在家参禅していいます。そこでは、雲水と同様に、老師から公案を渡されます。初貫には数年を要することもあり、じっくりと取り組むことが重要です。また、日本の面白い漫画やアニメをフォローすることも大好きです。日本と言えば、古都京都を思い浮かべる方も多いかもしれません。私は京都に10年住んでいました。あらゆる神社仏閣や季節の伝統行事に顔を出しました。祇園祭は長い伝統がありますね。姉が茶道を教えているので、たまに一緒にお茶会をしたりします。

私はロンドンに滞在中に、英語を練習する機会を増やしたいなと思っています。
IELTSの練習はしており、ターゲットはRLSW=8777です。現在のスコアは、RLSW=7,6,7.5,6.5. で、自己判断によると、SとWは順調に推移していますが、Lが最も弱く、Rはもっと練習する余地が大きいです。聞き逃すのが多いのと、読むのがどうやら遅いようです。
